Comprehensive Care at the Heidi Y Campini Cancer Center

This month, we are highlighting the Heidi Y Campini Cancer Center team, where patients find a tight-knit group of professionals who stand beside them, and each other, every step of the way.

The Cancer Center offers services including medical oncology, radiation oncology and oncology infusion, as well as surgical oncology, breast reconstruction and plastic surgery. Across services, the team’s mission is simple: treat every patient like family.

The Cancer Center team boasts breadth and depth with over 17 types of specialized staff, and is the proud home of double board-certified physicians, nationally certified oncology nurses, and highly skilled clinical and support staff who continuously strive to provide the highest quality care.

On a typical day, the team delivers radiation treatments, administers infusion therapy and supports oncology consultations and follow-up visits for over one hundred patients. Physicians, clinicians, nurses, therapists, navigators and support staff work together so every patient feels welcomed, supported and cared for from the moment they arrive.

Clinical Practice Manager for Oncology Kareen Ferrer reflected on the team’s positive attitude and dedication, sharing, “from diagnosis through survivorship, we strive to make every interaction meaningful, helping patients navigate treatment with confidence and dignity. Our continued growth reflects the trust our community places in us and our commitment to Northbay Health's mission of delivering exceptional care to those we serve.”

That sense of commitment runs deep. Many team members have devoted decades to the Cancer Center, and their experience helps create a culture for both patients and staff that is welcoming, supportive and focused on excellence.

Daily huddles are a key time to share patient stories, highlight successes, and recognize one another's contributions. Celebrating monthly birthdays and having team potlucks brings lots of joy, though what is most commendable is how the Cancer Center team steps in to support one another where it matters most, each and every day.
